Reflecting upon Uncle Janusz’s passing, Maria and I thought back to those family events and times that we spent with him, and several things came mind: He had a kind disposition. I simply don’t have any memories of his being cross. He was genuine and unpretentious. While enormously accomplished, he exhibited great humility and an understanding of others. We could see how proud he was of his family and how much he loved them. In the tributes found on these pages, it is clear that feeling flowed in both directions . . . Like water trickling along a path, some traces of a life are only visible to those who look, while other tracks are simply indelible. Similar to canyons, which become created by rivers over time, they leave behind a deeper history that can be seen by all who pass along its way. And, in this fashion, the legacy he left behind will long be well remembered. He will be missed. -- Richard and Maria Walicki
