My wife and I have been good friends with Janusz's daughter Kasia and her husband John for many years. I think over these 20 some years, we only met Janusz maybe once or twice. But I think it is a testament to how much he was loved and how unforgettable a person he was, that I feel like I've known him for years, because I can't think of one single get together we had where Kasia and John didn't share several new stories about Janusz or relate something he said or did. You could see he was just a huge part of their lives, and a larger than life character. It was a privilege to read all the wonderful remembrances and stories from his friends and family, to see how big an impact his life has had. It was fun to hear about his VW beetle, and his love of Fats Domino and jazz, which brought to mind how almost twenty years ago we sat in our tiny apartment in Hermosa Beach, CA and helped Kasia record and sing a slightly tipsy, homemade version of the Beatle's "When I'm 64" for Janusz's 64th birthday.
